Yes Man’ stars Jim Carrey as Carl Allen, a guy whose life is going until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple principle which is say yes to everything and anything. At first, unleashing the power of “YES” begins to transform Carl’s life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. But he soon discovers that opening up his life to endless possibilities might just become too much of a good thing.

A movie based on a true story which is a story about a plot against the German leader Adolf Hitler. The story focusing on a character named Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg played by Tom Cruise. The “July 20 Plot” on Hitler’s life is one of the most heroic episodes of WWII. Severely wounded in combat, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg returns from Africa to join the German Resistance and help create Operation Valkyrie, a plot against the German leader Adolf Hitler that will allow a government to replace Hitler’s once he is dead. The government trust Stauffenberg to lead the control of his nation’s government and he must kill Hitler himself and to show the world that not all Germans are like Hitler.

Another movie from the Walt Disney Pictures, Bedtime Stories is a about movie children’s fantasy about a hotel handyman named Skeeter played by Adam Sandler. The story begin when Marty Bronson (Jonathan Pryce) who raises his son and daughter on his own has to sell his motel to Barry Nottingham (Richard Griffiths) who promises to make Marty’s son manager, when he’s grown up. Nottingham demolished the motel to raise a pricey hotel. Although grown up, Marty’s son Skeeter Bronson works as a janitor and servant, but he still dreams of becoming the manager. When Nottingham announces a new hotel project, he makes his future son-in-law, base Kendall (Guy Pierce) a manager and it shattering Skeeter’s dream. At the same time Skeeter’s sister Wendy (Courtney Cox) has to leave town for a job interview and asks him to look after her two children Patrick (Jonathan Morgan Heit) and Bobbi (Laura Ann Kesling) with Jill (Keri Russell). He doesn’t get along with Jill or the children until he starts telling his bedtime stories. The adventure stories Skeeter featuring knights in shining armor, Old West cowboys, Star Wars, etc. Skeeter begins to realize that the imaginative bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew are become real. The idea of this movie is that the stories, where anything can happen, somehow manage to improve Skeeter’s real life.

Isabella “Bella” Swan moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie. She chooses to do this because her mother, Renée, travel with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, a minor league baseball player. Bella attracts much attention at her new school and is quickly befriended with several students and several boys in the school compete for Bella’s attention.

When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems repulsed by her. After asking a family friend, Jacob Black, into telling her local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires who drink the blood of animals, not humans. Edward reveals that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was so desirable to him. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love.

Their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven comes into Forks and James, a tracker vampire, decides that he wants to hunt Bella. The Cullen plan to distract James by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. Bella then gets a phone call from James and he says that he has her mother, and that Bella must give herself up to save her. She gives up and James attacks her, but Edward, along with the other of the Cullen family, rescues Bella before James can kill her. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella’s hand, Edward sucks the venom out of her blood before it can spread and change her into a vampire. When returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses to let happen.

New Moon is a young adult fantasy-romance novel by author Stephenie Meyer. It is Stephenie Meyer’s second novel in the Twilight saga. This book, unlike twilight, this series is about losing true love. It was originally published in hardcover in 2006.

Isabella “Bella” Swan is thrown an eighteenth birthday party by Alice and Edward Cullen and the rest of their vampire family. While unwrapping the gift, she receives a paper cut. Edward’s brother Jasper, although attempting a vegetarian diet, is overwhelmed by the scent of blood and tries to attack Bella. In an attempt to keep her safe from the world of vampires, Edward tells Bella that he and the rest of his family are leaving the town of Forks, Washington because he doesn’t want her anymore. Bella becomes severely depressed and seeks comfort with Jacob Black, an old family friend who eases her pain over losing Edward.

Bella and Jacob begin spending a lot of time together, and Bella soon discovers that when she is in danger, she hallucinate of Edward’s voice. Bella begins seeking out dangerous behavior, such as riding a motorcycle, to trigger the illusions. Meanwhile, Jacob finds out that he is a werewolf, and eventually reveals this secret to Bella. The werewolves begin to protect Bella from the pursuit of the vampire Victoria, who seeks revenge for the death of her friend, James, who was killed by the Cullen in Twilight. After Bella attempts cliff-diving, she gets caught in a tide and rescued by Jacob.

At the same time, Alice Cullen, Edward’s vampire sister who has visions of the future, has a vision of Bella jumping off the cliff. Presuming Bella is dead, Alice rushes to Forks to check on Charlie Swan, Bella’s father, while Edward calls Bella’s home. Jacob answers and informs Edward that Charlie is at a funeral, and Edward draws the conclusion that he means Bella’s funeral. Desperate after Bella’s supposed death, Edward flies to Italy to see the Volturi, peace-keeping vampires who would be able to kill Edward, granting him leave of a world without Bella.

Bella and Alice rush to Italy to stop Edward, and save him before it is too late. Before they leave Italy, the Volturi tell them that Bella, a human who knows of the existence of vampires, must either be killed or changed into a vampire herself. After they return to Forks, Edward explains to Bella that he only left in order to protect her, and she forgives him. The book ends with the Cullens voting in favor of Bella being changed into a vampire.

Gameplay

People always complaining about this game which is you cannot die in this game. That it eliminates all the challenge, but I don’t believe that, the challenge is still there. The gameplay in this game is really simple, and for me and many others. If you’re also looking for a highly enjoyable experience, this is the right game for you. If you have played any other Prince of Persia games then you should get what you expect, if not, this game is all about fighting and exploring. Pretty, simple huh? And the battle system is fantastic, just like the Prince of Persia series, but in this series it just likes playing Soul Calibur because of the cinematic scene and action packed in combat

Graphics

The graphics in this game is blows my mind because this game contains some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game before. I believe the complaining comes from people expecting the game to look the extreme graphic like every other game. The artistic style in this game is absolutely amazing, you will see the beauty of the view as soon as you jump and swing around the wall. The detail is outrageous as well if you look closely enough.

Sound

The music in this game sounds great. My only complaining is that sometimes when you’re traveling the world after a land is healed there isn’t any music to be heard. The voice acting is nice too, although they’re missing some accent for a more authentic feel, it didn’t really bother me because I enjoyed the voice work and the sound effects, it really sounds good, from the swords clashing, to scuttling across walls, everything sounds real.

Overall

Prince of Persia is a game worth experiencing from beginning until the end, it’s a game from first run could take you anywhere, making it a pretty lengthy adventure for this sort of genre. The only one complaining is no dying in this game, make all hardcore gamers disappointed. I’d definitely like to try some of those challenges, considering how much I enjoy the game. Can’t wait to see where the series goes next.

Gameplay:

You can use FPS skills or 3^rd person to play and then switch on the fly to the VATS targeting system making it play more like a turn-based RPG. There is an absolute ton of things to do and you simply cannot find and complete every quest in one round. This is a game that you can play over and over at least three times.

Graphics:

Very smooth graphics and very, very bloody game. The game has great characters, gruesome mutants and a lot of things to interact with, inanimate or not. Tons of things to find and places to explore and it all looks really top notch.

Sound:

A fantastic example of perfect voice work and actors, great sound effects, and killer soundtrack, this is a really great sounding title.

Overall:

Fallout 3 is the best PC game I have played all year, the developers did a bang up job of making the series come alive once more and I for one couldn’t be happier.

 My motivation is to bring out the talent inside of me and basically to make my parents proud.

 What is your vision and mission the election?

My vision is to make BEM-STBA LIA well known outside and inside STBA LIA itself. Meanwhile my mission is to bring up the UKM (Student Activity Unit) to be more active.

What is your point of view about student’s activities here?

 Now, I only see that there is only a view UKMs that is very active and it’s been dominated by a certain group.

 What experiences have you got before making your dream come true?

 I joined high school organization such as; Students Asociation (OSIS), scout, and I took them to the higher level in regional level.

 What is your plan to bring up BEM now?

 I focus on social issues and student activities.

 From what I heard from the previous BEM President, the issues are about bureaucracy and human resource in STBA.

What do you mean by bureaucracy?

 Activities permission and financial support that is hard to get.

 STBA LIA supports BEM as a student organization and BEM could make all UKMs or students activities more active for all students.

 Some are good and some are not, we’ll take the good ones as an example.

           Let’s put 2008 behind us and prepare ourselves for 2009. Leap for further steps, boost energy for faster pace, restrain powers to tackle all the obstacle that might come our way, aim for higher targets. New Year is a time to be better person(s), better achievements, better accomplishments, better opportunities, etc. New Year is not merely about parties, festivities, clamors, glamours, New Year is about new challenges, new spirits, new perspective, new optimism, new ambitions, new you. Happy New Year 2009.         

Feeling disappointed on New Year’s Eve in Monas.

That may be the words that come through from most people who went to Monumen Nasional or Monas. There was no New Year’s Eve event in the building that has become the icon of Jakarta. There  are some events in Monas every New Year’s Eve. However, this year was different with other years. There was no event at all in Monas.

            “We were cheated by people. There is no event at all” says Mrs. Deni. Mrs. Deni is one of the drinks and cigarette vendor in Monas that night. She and her husband were going there in order to sell and have a great time. But she felt disappointed, because her goods are not been sold out.

            According to her husband, Mr. Deni, this year is unlike the previous year. There was a lot of differences. This year people started coming to Monas at 5 o’clock. So, Monas were full by people at 7 o’clock. But last year even at 1 o’clock in the afternoon Monas had been filled by people. So, most people could not see the vendors who sold drinks, foods, cigarettes, or even trumpets.  But in this year, even the New Year has just come, all the sellers were still there, still sell their goods. That is why on the first day at 2009, we might see many disappointed faces on Monas.

            Monas had no events because DKI Jakarta’s governor forbid the management of Monas to hold any events there. The events should be minimized. That is why in this year we did not see anything except a lot of people  starring at the monument.

            It does not mean that no event no people there. Monas is still becoming one of the target places in New Year’s Eve. People brought fireworks to make the New Year’s Eve more exciting.

            But it does not stop the viewers. People still come to there even though they know that they will not see anything. People still choose Monas as their place to spend their New Year’s Eve with their family, friends, and even lover.

That agenda has been a routine for the Indonesian as one of the way regarding the merit of the heroes who had struggled to liberate the nation from the colonization for hundred years. It is undeniable that the independence of RI is nonsense without the youth’s participation at that time. With all the spirit, the youth unified the strength and thought fighting the tyrants. As a result, on August 17, 1945, Indonesia legally achieved the independence.

Now, 63 years has passed. However, what is the meaning of independence anyway? There are thousands questions from the people unanswered. Why does unfairness still happen? Why is there a huge amount of the poor tyrannized? Why does education still exclusive? Is this the independence wished?

By means of independence anniversary, let us together ease the intricacy among the people especially in education field where everything is expensive. Therefore, the third class people are also able to experience the so-called independence.

The interesting one from this event is all JABRIK used Batik as their dress code. It appropriated with the J CONER first edition theme that was trend “Batik”. This media hoped can be a media to Journalism students or everyone who wants to distribute their idea. Besides that, this media hoped will continue, not stop in the “middle of the road”. The JABRIK hope that their junior can continue this media. We hope that this media can improve to bigger than now and useful for many people.

Batik (atau kata Batik) berasal dari bahasa Jawa “amba” yang berarti menulis dan “titik.” Batik adalah kerajinan yang mempunyai nilai seni tinggi dan telah menjadi bagian dari budaya Indonesia (khususnya Jawa) sejak lama.

Kesenian batik merupakan kesenian gambar di atas kain untuk pakaian yang menjadi salah satu kebudayaan keluarga raja-raja zaman dulu. Pada awalnya batik hanya dikerjakan terbatas dalam kraton saja dan hasilnya digunakan untuk pakaian raja dan keluarga serta pengikutnya. Oleh karena banyak dari pengikut raja yang tinggal di luar kraton, maka kesenian batik ini dibawa keluar kraton dan dikerjakan di tempatnya masing-masing.

Lambat laun kerajinan batik yang disebut dengan batik tulis ini ditiru oleh rakyat terdekat dan selanjutnya meluas menjadi pekerjaan kaum perempuan Jawa pada masa lalu. Membatik adalah salah satu mata pencaharian mereka, sebab batik digemari banyak orang. Bahan kain putih yang digunakan pada saat itu adalah hasil tenunan sendiri. Sedangkan bahan-bahan pewarna yang dipakai terdiri dari tumbuh-tumbuhan asli Indonesia, antara lain dari: pohon mengkudu, tinggi, soga, nila, dan bahan sodanya dibuat dari soda abu, serta garamnya dibuat dari tanah lumpur.

Ragam corak dan warna batik dipengaruhi oleh berbagai pengaruh asing. Pada awalnya, batik memiliki ragam corak dan warna yang terbatas, dan beberapa corak hanya boleh dipakai oleh kalangan tertentu. Dengan masuknya pedagang asing dan para penjajah ke Indonesia, batik mengalami perbendaharaan warna. Warna-warna cerah seperti warna merah dipopulerkan oleh orang Tionghoa, yang juga mempopulerkan corak phoenix.

Tradisi membatik pada mulanya merupakan tradisi yang turun temurun, sehngga kadang kala suatu motif dapat dikenali berasal dari batik keluarga tertentu. Beberapa motif batik dapat menunjukkan status seseorang. Bahkan sampai saat ini, beberapa motif batik tradisional hanya dipakai oleh keluarga keratin Yogyakarta dan Surakarta.

Cara pembuatan batik itu sendiri pada awalnya dibuat di atas bahan dengan warna putih yang terbuat dari kapas yang dinamakan kain mori. Dewasa ini batik juga dibuat di atas bahan lain seperti sutera, poliester, rayon, dan sebagainya. Motif batik dibentuk dengan cairan lilin dengan menggunakan alat yang dinamakan canting untuk motif halus, atau kuas untuk ukuran besar, sehingga cairan lilin meresap ke dalam serat kain. Kain yang telah dilukis dengan lilin kemudian dicelup dengan warna yang diinginkan, biasanya dimulai dari warna-warna muda. Pencelupan kemudian dilakukan untuk motif lain dengan warna yang lebih tua atau gelap. Setelah beberapa kali proses pewarnaan, kain yang telah dibatik dicelupkan ke dalam bahan kimia untuk melarutkan lilin.

Saat ini batik sedang menjadi tren. Kain khas Nusantara itu hadir dalam model yang semakin modis dan bisa dikenakan di segala suasana. Dulu batik pertama kali diperkenalkan kepada dunia oleh Alm mantan Presiden Soeharto, yang pada waktu itu memakai batik pada Konferensi PBB.

Tak hanya diminati orang Indonesia, batik juga mampu menarik hati para warga mancanegara. Salah satunya adalah Bill Gates yang mengunjungi Indonesia beberapa waktu lalu. Ini merupakan bukti keberhasilan para desainer yang sudah fokus di jalur batik selama bertahun-tahun dan berhasil membuat booming warisan leluhur bangsa ini.

Berkat ide dan sentuhan seni mereka, batik lahir menjadi karya etnik modern dengan tampilan yang lebih ekslusif, manis, elegan, dan tidak kuno. Model dan warna pun tidak selalu warna cokelat dan warna gelap, melainkan permainan warna, motif tabrak, model modern, dan gaul pun berani diusung untuk menciptakan sebuah karya yang indah dan tidak ketinggalan zaman. Namun, tetap mencintai produk tanah air. Alhasil, batik saat ini tidak hanya dikenakan pada sejumlah acara resmi, juga batik yang diciptakan dengan model lebih santai (ready to wear) itu pun bisa dikenakan dalam acara apapun, seperti ke kantor, jalan-jalan, atau di rumah.

Jakarta , June 20-21 2008 , the English Department STBA LIA held its annual event, ENGLISH DEPT. FESTIVAL 2008. This year the theme for the festival was UNITY IN DIVERSITY; this theme was chosen because the series of programs showed the different, various cultures that exist in the English speaking countries. There were Scottish dance, Brazilian Cappoeira, the English Afternoon Tea, American Square dance, DJ performence, firework show, as well as non performing programs like book donation and seminar on HIV/Aids. Other additional events of this year festival were competitions for Senior High students (futsal), kids (drawing) and students of STBA LIA (story telling). As for the guest star performances there were the theatre performance of Noe, the vocalist of a well-known band, Letto.  Noe took part in a play by UKM Teater Pintu 310 entitled SITI NURBAYA IS A GANGSTER.  There was also the performance of SOULVIBE, a quite famous and highly qualified band.

A new tuition centre at PIK is looking for part time/full time teachers who are interested in teaching mathematics using english.

Students will be coming from national plus school, age from pre-school to primary 6.

-passion about teaching Mathematics, creative and loves the company of children,

-familiar with using ”My Pals are here” text book from Singapore would be a plus
